The Journey: Four Weeks 'til Boston

Seven hundred twenty-eight point seven miles traversed and counting.  The fabled starting line in Hopkinton, MA awaits.  Patriots Day 2006 found me calling Boston home foolhardy with visions of transforming into the West Wing's Josh Lyman.

I rode the "T" giddy as a boy attending his first baseball game with his pops.  I got off at Copley Square and followed the signs (after I snagged one off the wall) leading to the Boston Marathon Finish Line.  Friends and families sharing stories of their runners and eagerly awaiting them to celebrate the journey.

There isn't much that I remember of the actual race but oh was the city buzzing.  Then it all kicked up a notch as Red Sox's game ended and the full house came roaring onto the streets for Mark Loretta hit a bottom of the ninth 2-run walk off home run!

Heroes are crowned.  Dreams are fulfilled.  A life's journey is ignited.  Boston you are a magical place.  The journey of nine years and three days will come full circle Monday April 20, 2015.  See you soon Boston we'll have 26 miles 385 yards to catch up.
